An Experience You’ll Never Forget
Our Values?
Experiance
Our goal is to provide you with five days of MacNab attempts. Leading up to your departure, we will prepare you with what to pack and what to expect for your quest. We will coordinate all logistics from start to finish to ensure you have the best chance possible each and every day to achieve your MacNab. This website can give you an idea of what it’s all about, but please call us and we can explain everything in more detail and provide references. We love what we do…it shows when you connect with us!
Personalized Service
We truly believe that we provide a unique service to our teams of MacNabbers and that we make you feel welcomed and comfortable. What makes us unique? We are not simply sporting agents…we are not outfitters…we are hosts that will provide you with unforgettable experiences. We don’t just send you overseas on an adventure, we take you on the adventure. Together with our team of ghillies, stalkers, chefs, drivers and assistants you will have support at every turn. From the time of booking we maintain regular communications to make sure that we keep you informed about your trip, and to answer any requests or questions.
Value For Money
We focus on providing a valuable experience for our teams of MacNabbers. With high quality sporting, top shelf food, and excellent accommodations, you will want for nothing. You will find that nowhere else provides the authentic experience, cultural immersion, and value of this seven days and six night all inclusive adventure.
No Hassle Experience
All you need to do is make it to your destination airport (Edinburgh or Aberdeen) and we take it from there. You will be collected at the airport, transported to your home for the week, and looked after from that point forward. All hunting fees, lodging, food, permits, shooting insurance, ammunition, and wine with dinner are included. We have a range of vintage and modern shotguns for you to use, estate rifles, and fishing equipment so there is no need for you to travel with your own gear. If you wish to bring a gun or two, we will help you with all the necessary documents. The only exclusions are airfare, gratuities, taxidermy and export of trophies, and trophy fees for stags over 12 points.
Community
What makes this adventure unique is that you will be immersed in the local Scottish hunting community and with other like minded hunters all focused on the same goal. The support is wonderful from everyone on site. Everyone encourages each other and laughs and talks about the day around the fire and dining table each night. We have a phenomenal return rate for this very reason!
What Our Travellers Say
This was my first trip with Delaney and Sons. All expectations were greatly exceeded. The accommodations, food and staff at the Lodge were superior. The ghillies were fantastic and truly cared about our time on the hill, the grouse moor and the river. Sean and Liz were extremely responsive when individual needs came up. The fishing conditions were less than optional and greatly limited the chances of anyone successfully completing the MacNab Challenge. However, in the end it didn’t matter. To me, it was all about the pursuit and losing oneself in the moment. It was about the shared experiences with new friends and old which will enrich our lives for years to come.

Talk To Us...
Liz Delaney
Liz is responsible for the day to day operations at Delaney & Sons throughout the year, and she personally hosts every shoot on our calendar. She works during the pre-season to make sure that all logistical factors are planned well in advance, and oversees the execution of those plans during the week of each shoot. She assembles the teams of shooters and makes sure that everyone’s needs are met. Liz is an avid shot herself, and got into wing-shooting after deciding that fly fishing didn’t provide enough instant gratification. She is also a professional photographer, and spends a lot of time behind the lens capturing memories for our shooters. In short, Liz makes sure that everyone (shooters and non-shooters alike) has a great experience, and that all expectations are exceeded.

Sean Delaney
Sean helps Liz with pre-season logistics, helping to make sure that everything behind the scenes is taken care of, and acts as a host and facilitator during the MacNab Challenge itself. The loose choreography of a MacNab is always subject to change, and Sean helps to make sure that all of the balls stay in the air (and that they land in the right place). Sean is also a member of the MacNab Club, completing his first in 2021.

Mungo
Mungo is an integral and essential part of our MacNab Challenge operation. He heads up all fishing and general logistics for the week, bringing decades of experience in the field and on the water to our guests. Mungo has practical experience as a former deer stalking guide and award winning ghillie (he actually ran a fishing camp in Russia for a period and is a Scottish speycasting champion). His resilience and creativity rise to the fore during the MacNab Challenge, as all of our planning needs to be executed with flexibility and adaptability.

Jon
Jon (a/k/a JTC) has been a part of the Delaney & Sons Team since the beginning, and has been a part of every MacNab Challenge week to date. He is a keen deer stalker, wing shooter, and fisherman. Jon is a helpful and understanding shooting coach, and really assists making sure that the complex logistics of the MacNab run like clockwork. In tow on each MacNab are Jon’s working dogs. Poppy, the blood trailing teckel and Sid and Barney, his keen flushing springers are always ready to go. Jon lives in Ponty-Pool, Wales with his family.
